Stamp – "Bezaleel" Spinning Top and Coin of the Bar-Kokhba War stamps
This attractive historic set, issued December 1997 for the festival of Hanukka, shows on the 1.80 stamp, a cubic copper "savivon," or spinning top, with convex base, crafted at the beginning of the century at the "Bezaleel School of Art" in Jerusalem. The engraved Hebrew letter on top shows it was designed for export in the Diaspora. The 2.10 stamp, features a silver coin struck during the Bar-Kokhba revolt against the Romans, depicting a one-handled jug with fluted body, believed to be used in the temple service.
