Stamp: Gagea Commutate Lily
This stamp was issued in July 2005 and depicts two large open yellow flowers and stems of the genus "gagea commutate." There are eleven species of this member of the lily family that grow all over the land of Israel. The gagea commutate is a common plant, growing in the fields and in between rocks on the mountains. It is found in the coastal areas, upper and lower Galilee, Mt. Carmel, Mt. Gilboa, Beit Shean Valley, Judean Mountains, in the northern Negev and in Transjordan.
