Stamp – Philatelic Day 1989 - World Stamp Authority stamp
"Stamp Day" takes place every year on a specific date, it began with Austria and German Philatelists and has been adopted by about 50 countries. The first Israel "Stamp Day" took place on 17 October, 1989, during "Tevel 90", a national stamp exhibition for youth with participants from all around the world. It was held in Brnai Brith House in Tel-Aviv. On the face of the stamp appears the insignia of the World Stamp Authority, the F.I.P. (Federation Internationale de Philatelic), and the insignia on the border is that of the Israeli Philatelic Association. Israeli stamped mail is accepted as legitimate in all countries of the world bar Arab States and Pakistan. Although Israel has come under world-wide condemnation for its harsh treatment of the Palestinians it still enjoys Philatelic association with over 60 countries.
